Apple har avaktiverat Walkie-Talkie appen på Apple Watch på grund av en säkerhetsbrist i gjort att en person kunnat lyssna på en annan persons telefon utan den personens godkännande.
Apple har precis gått ut med en ursäkt gällande det hela. Apple fick reda på säkerhetsbrister via deras portal för att rapportera säkerhetsbrister.
We were just made aware of a vulnerability related to the Walkie-Talkie app on the Apple Watch and have disabled the function as we quickly fix the issue. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and will restore the functionality as soon as possible. Although we are not aware of any use of the vulnerability against a customer and specific conditions and sequences of events are required to exploit it, we take the security and privacy of our customers extremely seriously. We concluded that disabling the app was the right course of action as this bug could allow someone to listen through another customer’s iPhone without consent. We apologize again for this issue and the inconvenience.
Så Apple har avaktiverat Walkie-Talkie funktionen till dess att de kommer ut med en fix för det hela. Walkie Talkie funktionen är en funktion på Apple Watch som påminner om de gamla telefonernas Push to Talk funktion som gjorde att två enheter som var nära varandra kunde kommunicera utan telefonnätet.
När de kommer till de här säkerhetsbristerna så väljer Apple att agera snabbt. Precis som med säkerhetsbristen i gruppsamtal för FaceTime så stänger Apple ner funktionen ytterst snabbt.
